Standard Economy cars are equipped with 9 cabins and each cabin may be booked by passengers travelling together only. Each cabin has two lower beds and 2 upper beds. There are toilets and wash basins at each end of the car. The cars have air conditioning and heating system, it works when the train is moving. Thera are 220V sockets in each car. In hotels 4 passengers travelling together will have 3 double rooms and 3 passengers - 1 double and 1 single room.

Daily shower facilities are guaranteed either during your overnight stays at hotel or during the day in Krasnoyarsk and Ulan Ude, if you travel from Moscow to Beijing or in Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk if you travel from Beijing to Moscow (one day room per cabin).

Day 1 Arrival Moscow
Arrival in Moscow. You will be met at Moscow airport and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Moscow
Sightseeing tour with the visit of the magnificent Red Square, the Kremlin grounds and other highlights of Moscow. In the afternoon transfer to the railway station where you will come on board of Grand Trans-Siberian Express for almost 8000 km long journey to Beijing. Welcome dinner and accommodation on board of the train.
Day 3 - Full day on the train
Your private train will pass through the endless forests, lakes and small settlements, followed by the Ural Mountains. A day to relax, watch the landscape and listen to lectures about Russia and its people. In the evening you arrive toYekaterinburg, the "Capital of the Ural Mountains".

Day 4 Yekaterinburg
Yekaterinburg was founded in 1723 by Peter the Great as the centre of metallurgical industry. Gradually it has turned into one of the largest and the most important financial, industrial and cultural hubs of Russia. Yekaterinburg is located at the geographical border between Europe and Asia.

In the morning you will have the sightseeing tour around the city centre and you visit a place of remarkable importance for Russian history: the Cathedral on The Blood built at the place where Emperor Nicholas II and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

In the afternoon you will visit Ganina Yama, an assemble of small wooden chapels that were erected in the 1990-s to honour our last emperor's family that was buried there.

Day 5 Novosibirsk
Almost a full day of relaxation and lectures on the train, you will be passing the plains of Western Siberia and you will reach Novosibirsk in the late afternoon. It is Russia's third largest city and the biggest in Siberia. It was founded in 1893 as the future site of the Trans-Siberian railway bridge crossing the Siberian River Ob.

Day 6 Novosibirsk
In the morning during the city sightseeing tour you will see some remarkable orthodox churches and the famous Novosibirsk Opera House, the largest of Russia. In the afternoon, you will get into the Taiga, the "real Siberian forest".
In around 30 km from the city you will visit the largest open air railway museum of Russia, a collection of more than 60 steam, diesel and electric locomotives as well as several historical passenger cars – a perfect insight into the development of the trains on the Trans-Siberian Railway. In the end, you will pass under the mighty railway bridge of the Trans-Siberian railway during the boat tour on the River Ob.

Day 7 Krasnoyarsk
Krasnoyarsk is located along the mighty Yenissei River, one of the greatest in the world. During the sightseeing tour you will appreciate its incredible beauty.

Day 8 Irkutsk
Irkutsk is famous for its trade with Mongolia and China and it used to be called the "Paris of Siberia" at the time of the Tsars. You visit the old town with its large quarters still consisting of beautiful wooden houses, before invited to the cultural highlight of the tour, a private classical concert in a historical palace.

Day 9 Lake Baikal
Lake Baikal holds the biggest fresh water reserves in the world. It stretches up to 26 miles from east to west and more than 370 miles from north to south. It is the deepest lake of the world, reaching 1.620 meters at its deepest part. The mountain ranges around the lake and its deep blue waters definitely have the magical power.

In the morning a one hour bus drive will take you from the hotel to Lake Baikal. You will take a walk in the village of Listvyanka to see the beautiful wooden church of St. Nicholas. During lunch you will taste the famous Omul fish that lives only in Lake Baikal. In the afternoon you will take a boat cruise along Lake Baikal to the small village of Port Baikal where your train will be waiting for you.

You will be travelling at a low speed along the scenic Baikal Railway. You will have a photo stop at a small village where you will be able to put your feet into the clear and cold waters of Lake Baikal and see the typical wooden houses of local people. Later you will enjoy Baikal barbecue.

Day 10 Ulan-Ude
Ulan-Ude is the capital of Buryat Autonomous Republic of the Russian Federation. Buryats are an ethnic group close to Mongolians with an amazing mix of cultures and religions. Ulan-Ude is a meeting place between the East and West. Like Irkutsk, the city still has large areas with old and bright Siberian wooden houses. During the sightseeing tour you will visit one of the villages of Orthodox "Old Believers" that are still practising the same lifestyle as many centuries ago. You will be hosted for a typical Russian homemade lunch.

In the evening the train will come to the Russian border station Naushki and the Mongolian border station Sukhbaatar. Russian and Mongolian immigration formalities will take place on the train. You may stay in your cabin and you don't have to leave the train.

Day 11 Ulaanbaatar
In the morning the Grand Trans-Siberian Express arrives in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. During a sightseeing tour you will visit the famous Ghandan Monastery, the central Sukhabaatar Square, the Bogd Khan Museum which used to be the palace of the Khans and the Zaisan monument at a viewpoint above the city. From there you will have an excellent view of the city surrounded by large areas of nomadic yurt settlements. During the traditional music and dance show you will get acquainted with the Mongolian culture. In the evening you will enjoy typical Mongolian Hot Pot dinner.

Day 12 Ulaanbaatar
You will visit the Terelj National Park with incredible nature. A stone formation called the "turtle" and the beautiful mountainous scenery will fascinate you. In the park you will meet a herder family inside their yurt. Later you will enjoy Naadam show specially arranged for the participants of the Grand Trans-Siberian Express with wrestling, archery and horse racing.

Day 13 Ulaanbaatar - Beijing
Another day to discover the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar! Today you visit the Historical Museum to learn about the history of the Mongolians from Genghis Khan's times until today. In the afternoon you will visit a cashmere factory and see how the famous cashmere clothes are designed and produced. In the evening a 2 hour flight will take you from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing, the capital of China.

Day 14 Beijing
You will explore the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City and the huge Tian An Men Square. After that you will try the typical Chinese meal in one of the famous Beijing Roast Duck restaurants.
