The most budget way of travelling on the train. This category is popular among families or friends. Standard Economy cars are equipped with 9 cabins and each cabin may be booked by passengers travelling together only. Each cabin has two lower beds and 2 upper beds. There are toilets and wash basins at each end of the car. The cars have air conditioning and heating system, it works when the train is moving. Thera are 220V sockets in each car. In hotels 4 passengers travelling together will have 3 double rooms and 3 passengers - 1 double and 1 single room.
Daily shower facilities are guaranteed either during your overnight stays at hotel or during the day in Krasnoyarsk and Ulan Ude, if you travel from Moscow to Beijing or in Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk if you travel from Beijing to Moscow (one day room per cabin).

Yekaterinburg was founded in 1723 by Peter the Great as the centre of metallurgical industry. Gradually it has turned into one of the largest and the most important financial, industrial and cultural hubs of Russia. Yekaterinburg is located at the geographical border between Europe and Asia.
In the morning you will have the sightseeing tour around the city centre and you visit a place of remarkable importance for Russian history: the Cathedral on The Blood built at the place where Emperor Nicholas II and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918.
In the afternoon you will visit Ganina Yama, an assemble of small wooden chapels that were erected in the 1990-s to honour our last emperor's family that was buried there.

Lake Baikal holds the biggest fresh water reserves in the world. It stretches up to 26 miles from east to west and more than 370 miles from north to south. It is the deepest lake of the world, reaching 1.620 meters at its deepest part. The mountain ranges around the lake and its deep blue waters definitely have the magical power.
In the morning a one hour bus drive will take you from the hotel to Lake Baikal. You will take a walk in the village of Listvyanka to see the beautiful wooden church of St. Nicholas. During lunch you will taste the famous Omul fish that lives only in Lake Baikal. In the afternoon you will take a boat cruise along Lake Baikal to the small village of Port Baikal where your train will be waiting for you.
You will be travelling at a low speed along the scenic Baikal Railway. You will have a photo stop at a small village where you will be able to put your feet into the clear and cold waters of Lake Baikal and see the typical wooden houses of local people. Later you will enjoy Baikal barbecue.

Ulan-Ude is the capital of Buryat Autonomous Republic of the Russian Federation. Buryats are an ethnic group close to Mongolians with an amazing mix of cultures and religions. Ulan-Ude is a meeting place between the East and West. Like Irkutsk, the city still has large areas with old and bright Siberian wooden houses. During the sightseeing tour you will visit one of the villages of Orthodox "Old Believers" that are still practising the same lifestyle as many centuries ago. You will be hosted for a typical Russian homemade lunch.
In the evening the train will come to the Russian border station Naushki and the Mongolian border station Sukhbaatar. Russian and Mongolian immigration formalities will take place on the train. You may stay in your cabin and you don't have to leave the train.
