On this tour we will see where the famous ballet dancers Matilda Kseshinskaya, the first love of Nicolas II, Anna Pavlova, Galina Ulanova and Agrippina Vaganova studied and lived and we will get to know more about Marius Petipa and the formation of the Russian Ballet School. You will learn more about the Russian Seasons and Ballets Russes led by impresario Sergei Diaghilev who made Russian art so famous abroad. We will talk about this genius, his scandalous life, his role in the art life of the country, the artists and dancers he was working with, as most of them came to fame here in St. Petersburg. We will stop by the Mariinsky Theatre and Mikhailovsky Theatre, see them from outside and hear about their history. In the end of the tour we will visit the Theatre Museum situated in the building of the former Direction of the Imperial Theatres where we will see its impressive ballet collection with costumes and private items that used to belong to ballet legends.
